MPM: Back in 1983, Hashim’s “Al Naafiysh“ became one of the defining electro classics. 25 years later, 2 dope boys from Berlin – Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop – pay hommage with their seminal new-funk version (available on their album “Stamp Out Reality“ and on the double a-side 12“ “Rare Occasion“). Due to the versatile qualities of the song, we started a remix competition. Our five favourites are now available on one digi EP. Don’t expect the usual MPM style (if there is one for you), it’s a mixed bag of 8-bit electro, deep house, knarz house and slomo dub.
CrateMag was waiting eagerly, since day one, for the final of MPM’s remix competition. We can finally listen to the best beats!
Lucky winners are: Bandulero Sound System, Virgil Howe, Beatfanatic, Rory Hoy and Coffee Garner.
Crate’s favourite remix is:

CrateMag just digged out Sonar Soul’s new track featuring Sir Square Blaq. It sounds a bit different than his previous productions, but still dope!

I can’t stop nodding my head to that tune. Dope beat by Hubert Daviz and Tobrock (both from Germany).

The new album “echantillodrome” confirms Lilea Narrative’s skills as an deamnding and open producer, injecting freshness and energy into his precise rhythmic and melodic constrcutions. He performs electro hip hop in inspired and lifefull way and adds some freshness to the style with his ability for breaks, cuts, scratches and melodies which his music stand out.
The overall sound and percussive use of scratching clearly make “echantillodrome” a hip-hop album, but the rythmical work gives also a strong electronic vibe to the album which includes powerful featurings : Napoleon Maddox (prolific and yet brilliant founder of the band “Is What?” (Cincinnati) and of the “Phat Jam” project with Archie Shepp) Perseph One (A houston-based MC who shared stages with bands like Aesop rock or C-Rayz Walz).
New video from Dexter’s “The Jazzfiles”. Although I’m not a big fan of copy-paste videos, this one is worth seeing. But what’s more important, you can’t miss “Hi-Hat Club Volume 3″ which features many dope beats!

Suff Daddy: Free mixtape with 13 remixes and 2 original tracks. This is the first flavor. More coming soon.
I think I don’t have to recommend Suff Daddy’s music, so I won’t write essays about what can you expect from “Refills”. Just download it (Slum Village - Look Of Love Refill) and listen to dope beat!

This mixtape is like a time machine that takes you to the great ‘90. DJ Przeplach from Cracow mixed artists who are his biggest inspirations, that means: Pete Rock, Kenny Dope, Pharcyde, Air, Steely Dan and many more. Promo sounds dope, so I recommend all of you to buy “Slow Flow” as soon as possible!
You can get the mixtape by sending message to bboyfms@interia.pl.
